“I created this series “The Traps” in 2019 as an investigation to how types of marks work like written language, trapping the viewer into specific interpretations while simultaneously leaving space for individual interpretations. As a dyslexic I have had a life long fascination with the activity reading and the mechanics of it as it relates to drawing. The material choice of India ink combined with home made black walnut ink were used for their visual richness as well as their ties to an ancient past of image making.”
